Our Philosophy
Look, we're not gonna pretend architecture is all about fancy jargon and impossible-to-understand concepts. After fifteen years working across Vancouver's residential and commercial landscapes, we've learned that good design really boils down to understanding how people actually live and work.
There's this sweet spot between respecting what came before and pushing things forward - that's where we like to hang out. Whether it's restoring a heritage building in Gastown or designing a contemporary house in West Van, we're always asking ourselves: does this make sense for the people using it?
Sustainability isn't a checkbox for us - it's baked into everything. We've seen too many "green" projects that look good on paper but don't perform in the real world. Our approach is more practical: smart materials, thoughtful orientation, systems that'll actually work twenty years from now.
Our Journey
2010 - The Beginning
Started in a shared office space on Commercial Drive with two drafting tables and way more ambition than experience. Our first project? A 900 sq ft laneway house that taught us more than any textbook ever did.
2014 - Growing Pains
Moved to our West Hastings location and brought on three talented folks who've become the backbone of what we do. Started tackling commercial projects and realized we actually enjoyed the complexity.
2018 - Heritage Work
Got our first heritage restoration project - a 1920s warehouse conversion. Fell in love with the challenge of preserving character while making spaces functional for modern use. This became a major part of our practice.
2021 - Tech Integration
Invested heavily in 3D visualization tools - not just for presentations, but as a design tool. Clients started understanding spaces before they were built, which meant fewer "that's not what I imagined" moments.
2025 - Today
We're now a team of twelve, working on everything from private residences to mixed-use developments. Still learning, still making mistakes, still figuring out how to balance beauty with budget. That's the fun part.
